COMRADES Xmas Party  -17th February 2001

Event Review

"How the hell can I put down in words what happened the night before?"..my own voice in reply to the club, when asked to write up something for the website....

A few choice words could have summed the night up
.pub....music....beer....food....beer....food....music....more beer....food fights.....drunken silliness....even more beer....no comprehension of surroundings.....bit more beer....and then unconsciousness....

In 1999 the clubs that make up the comrades decided to have a new year party to celebrate the millennium.....so out of....... AIM.C.C....ENDLESS KNOT M.C.C.......TRIKES AND BIKES SOCIAL CLUB.....WOZWOLF N.R.C.....WYLDCATZ M.C.C.....and the MUTINEERS M.C.C......the Trike and bike lot got the short straw...and organized and hosted the thing......it was a stormin night and was decided to do it all over again the following year.

This years party was put together by the Wyldcatz, and as last year was once again held at the Pheasant in Sheffield.  So we all knew there was plenty of room to run riot...and a good late bar service....

Unlike last year there was no band to supply the live entertainment.....but the alcohol was in plentiful supply..So on a personal level I was happy and from what I remember most of the crowd didn't seem to mind the lack of a band

Music we did have, and VERY loudly in the form of the Chaos roadshow.....well one half of the Chaos crew....Phil couldn't make it, due to some secretive drunken meeting with work colleagues, about world domination...although strangely enough he didn't seem to want to go into too much detail....hmmm
It just meant that Paul had to work twice as much....better luck next time Paul....yardy yardy yardy..etc..ha!
Still this didn't deter people from getting up and having a boogie, because the sounds were still as loud and proud as ever.  As always a good supply of old and new stuff to keep all the punters happy...The only recommendation anyone could have given the DJ that night was a course on how to use soap and hot water !...( I'm gonna pay for saying that !...hahaha)

<<< IT WAS HIM

There was a good spread of food in the form of a cold buffet, all the usual goodies...(Bill Oddie...Tim Brooke Tayl.....errr..)...you get the idea..good food..and loads of it.....even napkins..(WHY?).  Although I'm not convinced that Rocky buttered ALL that bread on his own.  Where there is food at a biker party....there is a food fight.....no surprises there then....the instigator shall remain nameless....twat!

Don't ask about the raffle, all I remember is that I didn't win.....Hmmm...gonna have to talk to someone about that!  I'm sure the prizes lent towards the beer side of gluttonous and not the My little pony set that many were wanting it to be....( Yeah  I know I'm spouting bollocks....but don't argue with a master of it)

Looking back on these words, it doesn't seem to say much in detail...but ...hey....fuck you...who's writing this toss?

Overall it was another enjoyable drunken mass.....all the right ingredients were included....the beer....the music.....the people, and the excellent atmosphere.....Not even the threat of Dave (Endless Knot chairman). getting up and threatening to head bang to AC/DC..spoilt the atmos...(Sorry Dave!)

The usual suspects were out in force and the usual behavior happened....right down to the infamous Chaos roadshow Bohemian Rhapsody routine....conducted from the stage by a complete moron....(Me!)....

All that's left to say is thanks to Mick, Pancake and all the staff at the Pheasant.....for the endless beer supply...and somewhere to crash when they turned the power off.....
Thanks to the Wildcats for hosting the night.....personal thanks to Rocky for not trying to hump my leg....and thanks BB for being the BB we all know you are......

Next year it's the turn of AIM to host the party...so at least we all know where it is.......and I'll be fxyfxd if I'm writing this again......
